I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, but in June of 2024 photography became an institutional part of survival.

My mom had been diagnosed with brain cancer earlier that year, and with that I had to put my art to the side to focus solely on taking care of her. By June, she unfortunately had succumb to the illness. With my mother, not only being my biggest supporter in my art, but also a strong pillar in my life overall, I became angry and lost in my grief. Later that month, I figured it was time to pick my camera back up without realizing how life changing this decision would be. I found that instead of being mad at the world for continuing on, I actively pursed it, which after the year I had, didn’t know that would ever be possible again. Slowly, I felt my love for photography and life coming back, and with an entirely new outlook as well.

Photography has brought me so much joy and comfort throughout my entire life, but especially now.
